At the Abel prize ceremony short films about John Nash and Louis Nirenberg, produced by E. Eremenko in cooperation with the SFB TRR 109, were shown.

  • John F. Nash Jr. and Louis Nirenberg received the 2015 Abel Prize from His Majesty King Harald V at the award ceremony in Oslo on 19 May. The two American mathematicians receive the prize "for striking and seminal contributions to the theory of nonlinear partial differential equations and its applications to geometric analysis."

Center for Geometry and Computational Design

  • At the TU Vienna, the newly founded "Center for Geometry and Computational Design" (GCD) was opened on Friday, 14 November 2014. It's mission is the development of new geometrical tools for technological needs. The center is directed by Helmut Pottmann, who is also active in project A08 at DGD, so we look forward to a close cooperation between the GCD and DGD.

Für das Projekt "Kinderkonferenzabenteuer" wurde der SFB/TRR 109 ausgezeichnet.
