Summer School: Mathematical methods for high-dimensional data analysis

The Summer School is hosted by the Mathematics Department at the TU München and organized by DGD Principal Investigators Ulrich Bauer and Felix Krahmer. The goal of the Summer School is to bridge developments in machine learning, randomized methods, and topological approaches. The Summer School is aimed mainly at young researchers whose interests are related to the topics presented in the Summer School.

  • Date: 18.07. - 22.07.2016
  • Type: Summer School
  • Location: TU München

Topics:

Main topics of the summer school are:

  • Probabilistic methods for dimension reduction,
  • Geometric and topological methods for data analysis,
  • Kernel-based techniques in machine learning,
  • Algebraic foundations of persistent homology.

Speakers:

The summer school will consist of 6 hours of lectures given by each of the four speakers. An excursion is planned for Tuesday afternoon.

Organizers:

The Summer School is organised by

and generously supported by the International School of Applied Mathematics, the graduate program TopMath and the Collaborative Research Center "Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics".

Program:

The Summer School takes place in the Supercomputing Centre LRZ (Leibniz Rechenzentrum) on the Garching Campus of the TU München from Monday, July 18, 9:00 to Friday, July 22, 2016, 14:00. A detailled program will be posted here as soon as available.

Registration:
